Introduction

Hello all. This is a blog devoted to our upcoming mission trip to La Ceiba, Honduras. Nearly 40 of us, based mostly around the University of Florida in Gainesville, are planning on spending the dates May 2nd - 10th ministering to this community in northern Honduras.

Our ministry in the community will be three-pronged. There is a health clinic in La Ceiba where a number of us will spend time tending to the sick and providing medical assistance to the doctor and assistants already there. There is also a malnutrition center that we will help at and provide school supplies for. Finally, there may be opportunities to build homes for members of the community.

The exact itinerary of our trip is undetermined as we will help wherever we are needed, and that may change on a daily basis. To build houses, however, $3300 in extra funds will be needed to procure the necessary materials.

During our time in Honduras we will be interacting with the staff of the clinic, many kids, our home-stay families, and many others residents of La Ceiba. We will be working with a church in La Ceiba, Iglesia Gran Comision. Through these connections we will have the opportunity to share about what Christ has done in our lives as well as learning how He is working in the community.

Our needs from friends, family, and YOU are also three-fold. Suitcases full of school supplies, medical supplies, and youth clothing will be donated to the center, clinic, and church are needed. Monatery donations to send us to La Ceiba ($1085 per individual) and then to help fund the construction of homes are also needed. Finally, and foundationally, prayer is needed that we may set our eyes on His kingdom that He would use us as His ambassadors in Honduras.

This website is where we will be updating you, our extended support network, on our preparation for the trip as well as how God is molding us through this experience; before, during and after.
